Our recent trip turned up 2 new road signs plus an "honorable mention". The best one was

seen in Yakima, Washington. A close second was

just south of Orland, CA on I-5. Finally, although it doesn't fit the general category, I was charmed by the sign in Vacaville, CA advertising

The combination is just too odd.
Though not funny haha, in OK on I-44 there are two signs that always make me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteDO NOT DRIVE INTO SMOKE -I alwasys wonder what I should do if I see smoke. Do I stop in the middle of the freeway and hope it clears?
HITCHHIKERS MAY BE ESCAPED CONVICTS -Again, just kind of makes you think.
Not frequenting Oklahoma much, I'd never seen DO NOT DRIVE INTO SMOKE. It does make you wonder, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteWe have some places in California where picking up hitchhikers is discouraged for exactly that reason, but I've never seen it quite so bluntly stated here. This is California, we must be Politically Correct.
